BLOG 1 WEEK 8

Last week I met my goal of reading 40 pages. I was so HAPPY. For this week's goal I am upping it to 50 pages.
For my blogs last week, I would give myself a 4/5. They are okay, but I have not read too much of my book yet, so I don't have much information to go on.

BLOG 2 WEEK 7

1. The Red Sox
The Red Sox are just like the character Nathaniel in my story. They are the same because I don't understand either of them. I don't understand why the Red Sox just keep losing over and over. And I just don't understand Nathaniel's personality or any of his actions.

2. The Black Eyed Peas (BEP)
The Black Eyed Peas have the same characteristics of the meeting between Nathaniel and his old buddies. BEP play all kinds of random music, and no song is really related to another. So was the conversation between Nathaniel and his old buddies, every topic they brought up was a random one, and no topic was related to others.

3. Call Of Duty (COD)
Call of duty is basically like the beginning of my book. Just like my book, COD is action packed in the very beginning, but as it goes on it gets much more boring and includes more story and less action. The game can also be hard to understand and frustrate me, just like the beginning of my book is.

4. Porsche 911
The CEO of a company called Talos in my book is named Price. Price and the Porsche 911 are strikingly similar. Price's style is simple, but elegant. This quality is portrayed in his office which is modern, simple, and high-tech. The 911 is the same way. It may not have all the fancy features of a million dollar car, ( it's simplicity) but it does handle like one. The Porsche gets the job done quickly, efficiently, and in style, just like Price.

5. Polka Dots
The story of Mariposa is like a never-ending pattern of polka dots. The size of the dots in a polka dot pattern vary greatly and randomize throughout. The story goes from very small, insignificant scenes, to huge, plot changing developments. If you measured a time-lapse of someone's brain activity while reading this book, it would look similar to a polka-dot pattern.

6. Texas
Texas is where Talos headquarters is. Talos is a major influential corporation in my story.
Many major events take place there. For example; when Fouad hacks into Talos's computer mainframe to steal vital information, or when he heroically fights off a drug addicted maniac and saves the day.

7. The big bad wolf.
Jane hacking into the Talos mainframe is just like the story of the big bad wolf. First, Jane sent out decoy attacks into their system. Then, when Jane set the real attack into motion, their system ignored it as if it was just another decoy.

8. Tom From Tom and Jerry
Nathaniel and Tom bare a striking resemblance to each other. They both have cat-like reflexes. Also, they both have an extremely strong sense of determination. When either of them wont something done, it gets done. When Tom really wants to capture Jerry, he does. The same applies for Nathaniel.

9. Labor Day Party
After Jane sent out the Virus, she had a mini labor day party of her own. She had worked allot on that Virus, she had programmed it herself, it took her a long time to finish. She celebrated her accomplishment with a little party. Labor day is a celebration of success and hard work an that was what Jane's little party was all about.

10. A Restaurant: A Bar
A major and interesting event in my story happened at a bar. It was where the two
characters, Rebecca and Periglas had their second date. This event is also when we (the
reader) are first introduces to these two new characters. It is important that this event
happened, because in explains the new characters in detail.

BLOG 3 WEEK 7

How Author Described Something: "At regular intervals along all the local freeways and access roads, concrete arches hid .50 caliber, high speed, radar guided gun mounts similar to those used to shoot down missiles and capable of cutting cars and trucks-- even armored, military style trucks-- to hamburger filled scrap within seconds"
When I usually read passages like this one, I compare what the author describes with something in the real world. In this case, I compared this description to Fort Knox. The establishment that he is describing in the story is very similar to Fort Knox in that both places are highly armed and are near a freeway. I envisioned it to be a big white warehouse, with a huge long barbed wire fence surrounding the perimeter, and guard towers at intervals along the fence. It is not meant to draw attention, but it looks like it means business.

BLOG 1 WEEK 7

1. It varies greatly, since I read before bed and sometimes I get tired. So between 10 minutes and an hour, depending on how tired I am and how interesting the book is.
2. 140 minutes, give or take (I can never be consistent with things like this!)
3. About an hour and a half.
4. I usually complete my book blogs all on the same day (except for the reflection blog, which I complete on a different day, in class)
5. I have generally extended my vocabulary from reading my book.
6. I was barely able to reach my goal of 30 pages last week.
7. This week I will try to read 40 pages, because teachers have let off a little.

BLOG 3 WEEK 6

Write a letter from one character to another.
Dear Nathaniel,
Hey Nathaniel, I heard that you were sent out to Dubai! I have always hoped and dreamed to one day travel to Dubai. You know my origins are middle eastern, but the Dubai is just one of those places I just haven't got around to traveling to. Maybe next year.....
Anyway, how is the city life? Iv'e heard that Dubai's enormous city is bustling with fun and things to do. I have also heard that you get to live in that famous glass pyramid. What a great experience. Remember have fun, and be safe, you know it is pretty shifty out there these days.

Your Friend,
Fouad

BLOG 2 WEEK 6

1, Letter to character:

Dear Fouad,
Hey Fouad it's Michal again. I had just reading and I saw a report about you in today's paper. It said that a crazed drug addict programmer had terrorized Talos and it's workers. I was surprised to see that you acted as a hero and stopped this maniac without lethal force. I wanted to ask if you were ok. Also how is it going over there at Talos, how are you doing? What is it like being an undercover operative and all? I know most of that info is top secret and all, but I just wanted to make sure that you were ok.
Your friend,
Michal Cwik.

2. Letter back from character:

Dear Michal,
Hey Michal, I haven't heard from you in a while! How's it going up there in Maine? Anyway, don't worry I'm fine. That psychopath didn't hurt me at all. I just cooled him down and we had a nice conversation. I knew he was dangerous, but I spared his life because I am not the killing type. I had called in for reinforcement earlier. The FBI arrived and everything settled down. I am doing fine, life is great and full of surprises, thanks for asking.
Write again soon!

Sincerely,
Fouad.
